Waxworms (Galleria mellonella) are a popular treat feeder for reptiles, amphibians, birds, and
even fishing bait. Due to their high fat content, they are best used as an occasional treat rather
than a staple feeder. They are an excellent way to add variety to your pet's diet and are often a
favorite among picky eaters.

Our waxworms are shipped at their largest and most nutritious larval stage. At this point, they no
longer need to be fed and survive on stored fat reserves until they eventually pupate. Because
they have reached their maximum size, they will gradually become smaller over time rather than
continue growing.
Storage & Care
- Waxworms can be kept in their original cup at room temperature for approximately 1–2
weeks. - For longer storage, keep them between 55–60°F where they will become dormant and
can last up to 8 weeks. - A wine cooler works well for storage; most household refrigerators are too cold.
- Waxworms require a low-humidity environment. If the bedding appears damp upon
arrival, leave the lid off temporarily to allow it to dry. - Periodically remove any dead worms (dark-colored worms) and any cocoons that may
form.
