How to Make Sure That Your Feeders are Live on Arrival
Apr 14th 2024
When ordering live feeders online, your main concern is probably that they arrive… well… alive! We do our very best to make sure that your bugs are packed in a way that they get to you safely but there are some things that you can do to help us!
The first thing you can do is choose a faster shipping method. We include free, standard shipping with all orders but it is sometimes best to choose a shipping method that gets your bugs to you a little quicker. Depending on your location in the country as well as the weather across the entire country, the shipping method you choose could be the biggest factor in getting your bugs delivered alive and feeling well. If it is too hot or too cold, this will lower the chances of you getting live bugs. Cutting down the time that your feeders are in transit can help a lot!
Another thing that is helpful is having your package held at the post office if you choose USPS shipping. This doesn’t cost you anything but can be the difference between life and death for the little bugs. USPS does not typically heat or cool their mail trucks, leaving your bugs exposed to extreme temperatures. There's also no way to know when your bugs are loaded onto those trucks or how long they will sit in there before they arrive. The safest bet is having them held at the post office so that you know they are always kept inside in a temperature controlled environment.
You’re probably wondering what to do if you receive your bugs and they didn’t make the journey. The most important thing is to bring your package in and open it up right away! If there is an issue with the order, it is so imperative that you reach out and let us know with photos immediately. You should include photos of all dead bugs as well as any live bugs. It would also be helpful to include a photo of the invoice inside your box as well as the bag or cup that the feeders were shipped in.
We love hearing from our customers and we are always happy to help with any issues that may occur. Reaching out right away and providing proper photos of the issue will help us get your issue solved in the most timely manner. We hate disappointing our customers and will do all that we can to make any wrong situations right!
